East Yorkshire Hostas - How to Buy
Placing an order
Apart from buying face to face at the shows I will be attending, ordering online or through email is the most popular way to get your hands on our hostas! Because some of our newer varieties are in short supply we always like to confirm availability prior to you placing an order with us.
I will be selling plants directly from East Yorkshire Hostas, at plant fairs and garden shows and will be advertising the dates of these via the Facebook page and this website .
We also will be continuing to supply plants via the Online shop facility on this website Once you have completed your order you will be taken to your Paypal account for you to make your payment then you must return to the East Yorkshire Hosta site to complete the transaction.
Alternatively you may email an order and then pay by cheque but this will be a slower process as your cheque will need to clear at the bank before plants are sent to you.
Once your order is placed, your plants will be sent as bare root specimens by Royal Mail first class post.
Postage Costs for 2018 will be
1 – 3 plants £5.00
4 – 10 plants £7.50
11 or more plants free of charge
Please ensure you read the Privacy statement to ensure you are aware that we will not sell your details or use them in anyway other than for your purchase of plants from East Yorkshire Hostas and to keep you informed of any offers or changes (unless you tell us otherwise)
Any queries on ordering please ring me for a chat 07568 165258
Please note we do not ship to countries outside the EEC
To keep postal costs to a minimum our plants are sent to you bare rooted in damp paper tubes by first class mail. Generally you will receive these within ten days from date of ordering but if after this time you have not received your plants we would ask you to contact us in case they have ‘gone astray’ in the post. If this is the case they will be replaced.
Please ensure you are available to receive your plants. Plants left on the doorstep for several weeks weeks tend not to get a good start in life although bare rooted plants will survive for many weeks even though the foliage may look a little sad!! On receipt of your hostas and to ensure they get the best possible start, we recommend you pot them up in a good quality compost until the root system has had time to re- establish itself and then they may be planted out. The larger varieties may be planted out directly depending upon the weather!
